Founded in 2009 by photographer Cristian Movilă and Romania’s late ambassador at large, Mihnea Constantinescu, EIDOS emerged from a shared belief that creativity, curiosity, and dialogue can bridge the growing divides in our societies.

Since its inception, EIDOS has served as both a catalyst and a connector—bringing together visionaries, artists, researchers, and entrepreneurs to explore the spaces where ideas, identities, and disciplines meet.

A world where social, cultural, and educational infrastructures invite us to connect and exchange with others over our differences, rather than institutionalize divisions between us.

To employ curiosity and lifelong learning to create the most multidisciplinary ecosystem of positive alternative social, cultural, and educational spaces for connection and exchange in the world—anchored in Romania, but open to everyone.

EIDOS Foundation operates across three core areas—Social, Culture, and Education—developing and supporting initiatives that blend creativity with critical inquiry. Through programs like UNFINISHED Festival, UNFINISHED Love Stories and World Press Photo, we build bridges between diverse communities and disciplines, creating spaces where dialogue, experimentation, and new perspectives flourish. Our ecosystem includes projects that range from cultural and educational initiatives to experiments in media, governance, and social innovation—such as UNFINISHED Democracy, EIDOS Talks, as well as residencies and fellowships.

Since its founding, EIDOS Foundation has been guided by a simple but powerful idea: to use creativity as a tool for building bridges wherever they’re missing. We see multidisciplinarity not as a luxury, but as a necessity — the key to understanding complexity, breaking out of echo chambers, addressing systemic challenges, and imagining solutions that no single field could achieve alone. By connecting perspectives that rarely meet, we create the conditions for genuine insight, innovation, and change.
